This piece is a navigation of my new environment, London, looking at an ancient pilgrim route named the Black Path, from Walthamstow Wetlands to Blackfriars Monastery. The project is also inspired by spiritual and alchemical uses of salt and charcoal, relating to existing within oscillating states of resilience and recovery in contemporary city life - particularly in hospitality work. Responding to this polarity, the piece explores a historical lens and re-enchantment as pursuits of balance.
