Hydro Trinity by Annabelle Keyes is a conceptual, experience-based study into the ways residing around bodies of water may influence a heightened awareness our relationship to land, such awareness and understanding being that which the artist proposes has diminished over time; in part enabling the ongoing disregard and destruction of ecology we see today. Inspired by research into ancient folklore and mythology around water-related rituals and deities, the findings are reflected in a trilogy of experiences residing next to bodies of water, in respect of three distinct categories of human experience: the solo - individual and personal - (Jezero), the duo - collaborative and consciously shared - (Fête) and the trio - collective and community oriented - (Carta).
